Iris Steenkamp

Iris is an Assistant Professor in the Marketing Department at Bocconi University and received her PhD from London Business School. Her research provides a new perspective on essential marketing concepts (e.g., sales activities, marketing strategy, and consumption) by linking these to key social and economic development outcomes (i.e., gender empowerment, resilience, and poverty) using large-scale field experiments. In collaboration with private and social enterprises, some of her ongoing projects examine the impact of sales employment on gender empowerment and resilience in rural India (N=1,050) and the effectiveness of a loyalty program in a supplier-company setting in Rwanda (RCT, N=8,000).
