Simon Schulten’s research is located at the intersection of Behavioral Industrial Organization and Marketing. In his job market paper Simon studies how consumers learn from their mistakes in a televised multi unit auction and how the firm that runs those auctions manages consumer learning. His research has both managerial and policy implications. Simon combines reduced form econometrics and structural modeling with causal inference methods from the computer science literature. He is also runs field experiments with firms.
