Carlos Siri
About
Carlos Siri is a third-year marketing PhD student at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Initially, he worked in product development and innovation within the oil and gas technology sector, which was when he first was exposed to marketing concepts.
His transition to academia began with a role as a research assistant at INCAE Business School. His current research centers on understanding the signals entrepreneurs use when seeking early-stage funding. A key area of his work involves studying the role of patents in crowdfunding, examining how they can act as third-party endorsements for innovative projects, providing funders with assurance and reducing both success and delivery risks.
Moving forward, he plans to deepen his understanding of entrepreneurial funding sources, including early-stage private equity funding. He is in the initial stages of a project that investigates the influence of creativity in early-stage private equity funding. This research continues his exploration of the intersection between entrepreneurial funding, innovation, and market strategies.
