About
Kiwoong Yoo is a fourth-year Marketing Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business. Before joining the Marketing Ph.D. program, Kiwoong worked for three years at Deloitte as an auditor and consultant for clients across various industries, such as gaming, commodities trading, and healthcare insurance. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) in New York. Kiwoong holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from Hofstra University and a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies concentrating in Biological Sciences from Cornell University. His diverse professional and educational background plays a significant role in his approach to marketing research. Kiwoong’s research has been published in the Journal of Retailing, examining retailing strategies in the metaverse from consumer, retailer, and brand perspectives. This publication reflects his research focus on marketing decision-making, especially in contexts of market disruptions and technological innovations. Moreover, Kiwoong is actively involved in the marketing academic community, having served as the Vice Chair of Communications for the American Marketing Association (AMA) Doctoral Special Interest Group (DocSIG).
