Marcelino Chavez
About
Marcelino is a Ph.D. student in the Marketing Strategy area at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. He has extensive professional experience as a marketer in business-to-consumer and business-to-business marketing, especially in emerging markets.
His present research interests are related to marketing strategy, innovation, economic cycles, branding, and marketing and firm performance. Also, he is interested in applying computational techniques, such as machine learning, to analyze unstructured data.
Marcelino has an MBA degree from ESAN Business School in Lima, Peru, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru (PUCP). He has attended multiple management and marketing courses at Kellogg School of Management, ESAN Business School, Universidad de Piura in Peru, and PUCP.He is a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA).
He is an avid runner who completed the marathons of New York City, Berlin, Chicago, and Lima, his hometown. He enjoys music (jazz, opera, rock), movies, TV series, traveling, and, as a good Peruvian, he considers himself a bit of a foodie.
