"Consumer credit use – Current directions of research in economic psychology"
Thursday, May 12, 10:00am – 11:30pm (WiSo Modulbau Seminar Room 3)
Abstract:
Consumer credit use has strongly increased over the last decades, and new forms of credit are evolving with new technologies (e.g., via SMS or internet, social lending). Credit use is influenced by situational factors (e.g., availability, interest rates), cognitive factors (e.g., knowledge, mental accounting) and social factors (e.g., social norms). This talk provides an overview on the current state of knowledge on the psychological factors involved in taking up and repaying a credit.
