"Current developments in data protection law and It-security - Impact on research and relevant stakeholders"

Abstract:

Data protection rules as well as information and network security become increasingly important in our connected world. The talk gives an overview of current challenges in data protection and IT-law and shows their impact on research and stakeholders concerned by legal regulation in this field. New instruments, such as the proposals of a new EU data protection regulation or a Directive on information and network security are briefly discussed. These legislative proposals lead to various questions that build the basis for research projects, which will be presented at the end of the talk.
